Michael Means in "Peninsula" with Peter Sparling Dance Company

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED MODERN DANCE CLASS
Designed for dancers with several years of modern dance training, a Horton and Graham based dance class that will cover complex combinations, weight shifts, rhythms and self-expression. The dance class will energize and strengthen dancers.

Samantha Shelton		 INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED BALLET CLASS
Class structure will reflect the philosophy of ABT, which incorporates the best of the major teaching methods of the Russian, Italian, British, French and Danish syllabi, into a solid ballet curriculum. Each dance class will focus on proper placement, use of turnout, extension and classical line.

FACULTY BIOS

Joanne Danto is a former principal dancer with the Joffrey Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet and Frankfurt Ballet. Ms. Danto has been a master teacher throughout the United States and Europe.

Carol Halsted is Director of Dance at the Detroit Opera House and Professor Emeritus of Dance at Oakland University where she chaired the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance. Her doctoral work was in teacher education for young children and she has had extensive experience in creative dance for children.

Meg Paul is Director of Dance at Music Hall, a former Principal dancer with Joffrey Ballet and the Director of Stars of Ballet and Broadway.

Samantha Shelton is an instructor at Wayne State University and a ten-year faculty member for the ABT Summer Intensive at the Detroit Opera House and Wayne State University.

Michael Means, MFA, has performed with several companies including Peter Sparling Dance Co., Dallas Metropolitan Ballet, Dallas Black Dance Theatre and Martha Graham Dance Dance Co.
